What does Sol Tech do?

Sol Tech designs, supplies, and installs complete off-grid and hybrid energy systems across Portugal. We also install solar PV, solar thermal, air-source heat pumps, wood & pellet boilers, and backup generators.

What’s the difference between off-grid and hybrid systems?

Off-grid means your home runs independently from the utility grid using solar panels, batteries, and often a backup generator.
Hybrid means you use solar + batteries alongside the grid, giving you energy savings and backup power during outages.

Can you design a system specifically for my home?

Yes — every system is custom-designed around your property, lifestyle, energy use, and budget. We don’t do one-size-fits-all packages.

What areas of Portugal do you cover?

We provide nationwide supply and installation, with regular projects across North, Central, Alentejo, and Algarve regions.

Do you only install systems, or can I buy products too?

Both. You can:

Buy individual products through our shop (panels, inverters, accessories), or
Choose a full design + supply + install package.

What brands and equipment do you use?

We work with trusted global brands including Victron, Voltronic, Huawei, Goodwe, Ingeteam, and SAJ. We only install equipment we’re confident in for long-term reliability.

How long does a typical installation take?

Timelines vary depending on system size and complexity, but most residential installs take:

Design & quoting: after your consultation

Install on site: typically a few days once equipment is ready
We always aim to stay on schedule and communicate clearly throughout.

Will I still have power at night or on cloudy days?

Yes. Your system includes battery storage, so energy collected during the day powers your home at night. Hybrid systems can also top up from the grid if needed.

Do I need a backup generator?

Not always, but for many off-grid homes it’s strongly recommended as a safety net during long low-sun periods (especially in winter or high-demand homes). We supply and install generators where appropriate.

Can you also help with heating and hot water?

Yes — we install:

Is solar in Portugal actually worth it?
